MANCHESTER UNITED NEEDS A DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL

As criticisms continue to rain down on David Moyes, former Liverpool and Totenham Director of football - Damien Comolli believes that Manchester United is in need of a football director. This reaction comes a few days after the transfer deadline in which Manchester United are believed to have done woefully compared to the other top four clubs (Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester city). United could only add one major name to their squad - Maroune Fellaini who arrived in the final hours of the transfer window, having lost out on big names like - Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara, Daniele De Rossi and Sami Khedira -- while a move for Ander Herrera fell through on deadline day and they failed to secure Fabio Coentrao from Real Madrid after running out of time.In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Comolli said that "If there was a club in need of a director of football to ease the process for both individuals it was Manchester United, David only joined on July 1, which was quite late" He continues..
"The issue for Manchester United is that the two most important people at the club, in Sir Alex and David Gill, left their positions and new people came in for their first transfer window.
"For some reason the club weren't prepared or they didn't think it would be that difficult and they ended up in a difficult situation."
